Room in the Inn
Room In The Inn | November 12-19
The next session for Grace Covenant to host “Room In The Inn” is coming up soon! – November 12- 19, 2017. We will be locating the INN at our good neighbor’s (Grace Episcopal) church because of our construction here at GCPC. The Inn rotates around the area churches to provide shelter for women who have no home of their own. The ladies in this program are currently in various support programs to help them be successful in obtaining and managing their own apartment.
There are many ways to help with the Room In The Inn (RITI) program as WE here at Grace Covenant provide a safe haven for these ladies: Prepare food, drive the women to or from A-Hope (in downtown Asheville), spend the night, set up the Inn or help take it down. Please see a “Room In The Inn” team member at the RITI table in the narthexon Sundays and you will be able to get more information from Geneva Neeriemer, Nan Clarke, or Beth Kissling. You can also sign up online HERE.
Thank you for looking at your calendar and considering being a part of this mission in our very own community.
What's Room in the Inn (RITI)?
This is a program of the Asheville area churches for hosting up to 12 women for one week, four times a year. We partner in this ministry with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
How does it help?
RITI is a part of Asheville's Homeward Bound organization. Women can participate in RITI for 90 days, during which time they are helped to find permanent housing and provided with the skills and support that help them stay there.
What does GCPC do during that week?
Volunteers from both congregations provide all aspects of care while they are with us. This involves:
